A NEW PUBLIC SCHOOL IS COMING TO BEAUMONT IN 2017
Black Gold Regional Division No. 18 (BGRD), in conjunction with the Province of Alberta, is building École Champs Vallée School, next to the Les Champs Vallée fields (6202 – 30 Avenue) to provide additional education facilities to meet the growing needs of the young community of Beaumont. The new school will have an enrollment capacity of 900 and is expected to service ECS to Grade 9.
OPPORTUNITIES ARISE – CONFIGURATION TO BE REVIEWED
As a result of enrollment growth and the new École Champs Vallée School, school attendance area boundaries, school grade configurations, student enrollment capacities, student programming and student transportation will need to be reviewed at all of BGRD’s Beaumont Family of Schools during the Spring and Fall of 2016.
This is a great opportunity for BGRD and its community stakeholders to take advantage of change and to advance its goals of inspiring success, providing supportive environments and managing resources responsibly.
Configuration is guided by community values, available facilities, budget constraints and there is no universal, optimal solution. However, this is an opportunity for BGRD and its community stakeholders to examine the use of Beaumont Family of Schools and encourage the best possible educational practices.
The review process will commence this spring, and opportunities for public engagement will be provided in the fall of 2016 prior to finalization by the Board of Education. All information regarding the Configuration Review will be made available here.
